Charity: Young Lives vs Cancer

I’ve worked with Young Lives vs Cancer on a few different projects over the last few years, photographing everything from major fundraising events to campaigns calling for change.

I photographed the London Marathon for three years (2022-2023-2024), capturing runners, supporters and all the chaos that comes with 26.2 miles and a very large number of charity vests.

I also photographed the Running On Empty campaign, which saw young people and supporters take their campaign to Downing Street to highlight the financial pressures facing young people with cancer and their families.

More recently, I photographed the Ultra Challenge Jurassic Coast event, documenting the people taking part, the supporters along the route and the atmosphere of the event itself.

These projects have given me the chance to photograph Young Lives vs Cancer in lots of different settings, from huge public events to campaigning and fundraising activities, while capturing the people at the heart of each one.

A personal connection

Young Lives vs Cancer is also a charity I’ve personally fundraised for. I took part in the London Marathon myself when I was 8 months pregnant…! I have often been described as tireless, and I guess it’s true!

I’ve experienced the marathon from both sides of the camera, which makes photographing these events particularly meaningful to me.

I love working with charities and third sector organisations that need natural, engaging photography of their people, events and campaigns — without everything having to look like a corporate photoshoot.
